The Hedge Funds Review 13th Annual European Single Manager Awards recognises the best hedge funds in Europe.

The European Single Manager Awards remains the most prestigious event held exclusively for the European hedge fund industry and continues to attract the top names.

The hedge fund investment process relies on more than just numbers and our judging process recognises this. An expert judging panel reviews the risk and return characteristics of the top funds and agrees a shortlist and winner in each category. The judging panel, chaired by Hedge Funds Review editor Margie Lindsay, is impartial and unbiased and rewards genuine performance and quality.

To qualify for the performance categories, with the exception of sub-$100 million categories and the emerging managers awards, funds must report three years of net returns and have a minimum of $100 million of assets under management in the fund and/or strategy.

For one-year performance categories, the period under consideration is January 1, 2012 to December 31, 2012.

For the long-term performance awards over three years, the period under consideration is January 1, 2010 to December 31, 2012 and for 10 years the reporting period runs from January 1, 2003 to December 31, 2012.

Emerging managers are defined as those with a track record of two years or less. There is no minimum AUM requirement for these categories. The fund must have been launched by on or before December 31, 2012 and have a substantial presence in Europe.

Hedge funds are also invited to enter the qualitative categories that recognise achievements in product development, innovation, client service and excellence in the industry by both groups and individuals.

Winners of the Hedge Funds Review 13th European Single Manager Awards 2013 will be recognised at a black-tie dinner on May 29 at the Royal Garden Hotel in central London.

Entries for the second Americas Awards 2013 have opend.
A cocktail reception for winners will be held in New York City on July 18.
